Bronleewe introduced Arbuckle to friends Joe Porter (drums) and Matt Stanfield (keyboards, programming), and the lineup was completed with bassist J.J. Plasencio and guitarist Stephen Leiweke. The group released its self-titled debut on Essential Records in 1997, with Bronleewe and Jars of Clays Dan Haseltine co-producing the record. The bands second album, Candycoatedwaterdrops, followed in 1999, after which Arbuckle left to pursue a solo career under the bands existing moniker. 2000s The Best of Plumb effectively completed Plumbs contract with Essential, allowing Arbuckle to partner with Curb Records on her future releases.
